The Eastside meeting was well attended although several Westside members were stopped at the I-75 Border and had to show passports and visas. There were quite a few guests and new members also in attendance. Matt had a great presentation on the Muskegon river’s improvements after the addition of the bottom feed from the dam was put into operation.

Maybe we should look in to organizing this a bit better. Maybe follow the system developed for the Au Sable at Gates' Lodge. If you don't assign anyone to particular "beats" you could get duplicate waders working the same area. Rusty has also developed broom handles with filed down nails in the end of them so folks don't have to bend over so much...Especially us older ones. It's a wonderful idea and we all know that the poor Huron could use a little TLC! Maybe, if it hasn't already been done, the canoe rental folks should donate something to the effort...Anglers don't pollute...though they have been known, from time-to-time to be a little forgetful (the post 50 crowd especially) and leave their fly boxes behind on a log or dock etc. I actually, this year, dropped a Maglite in the Huron in the dark only to retrieve it one week and a day later...It still works!

Heidi,
That's something that did come up last year but we just didn't have the time for it. 30 days to get the expo site up from scratch just wasn't enough time!! Your suggestion is exactly what we're looking for, good ideas that make our vendors happy and hopefully result in a better show for all. I'll put that idea on the top of the list for this year!
Thanks,
Eric

I like the site.. it would be great, though, if you would make the streaming logos of exhibitors linkable for click through! I am considering exhibiting for www.OpenRangeCookware.com (great shore lunch cooking!) and these extra ad ons are always nice..

Jeff McGowan did an outstanding job organzing this event and should be commended. The other members who participated this year were very enjoyable for me and my family to be around. Fun was had by all! Great job Jeff! Thanks to all!
