DESCRIPTION:2026 Expo Postcard\nLearn from nationally recognized professionals. \nTalk to experts.\nCast rods on the full sized in-house pond!\n\nThe Expo runs on volunteers.\nWant to help?  Click here!\nThe show is Friday\, 3/6 from 1:00 to 9:00 and Saturday\, 3/7 from 9:00 to 6:00.\nFor two days each March\, the Michigan Fly Fishing Club (MFFC) hosts the Great Lakes-area’s premier event for all things fly fishing — the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo.  This learning extravaganza is the oldest all-fly fishing event east of the Mississippi!   \nOrganized and run exclusively by MFFC volunteers\, the show typically features five headline speakers\, dozens of free seminars about fly fishing skills\, techniques and destinations\, dozens of fly tying demonstrations and more than 120 exhibitors.  Exhibitors include outfitters and retailers from across the country\, guides\, rod- and net-building artisans\, artists\, authors\, dealers in rare and collectible books and memorabilia and conservation organizations.  \nBest of all\, because the 54-year-old MFFC is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization\, proceeds from the Expo flow right back to support the Club’s educational programs and to fund a variety of grants conservation organizations across the state to restore and enhance Michigan’s rivers and lakes.  Over the years the MFFC has provided grants totaling more than $400\,000 for such causes.   \nAdmission is $15 for a one day ticket\, $20 for a two-day ticket. \nWe look forward to seeing your there! \nExpo Site : Click here \nTickets:  Click here \nVenue:  Click here \nVolunteer & Get In Free:  Click here. \nCheck in at the Club room for perks.

As part of outreach and education for the MFFC\, we staff an activity booth at Outdoorama where Club members teach young participants to tie Wooly Buggers for fishing\, and guide them through fly rod casting on the pond. \nHours are: Thursday 1p-8p; Friday 12p-8p; Saturday 10a-8p; Sunday 10a-5p \nVolunteers are needed for these four days at Outdoorama. People are needed to help kids tie flies (no prior experience necessary)\, try their hand at casting a fly rod\, help set up\, help tear down\, and help co-chair the general organization of things. \nEach fly leaves on an expo flyer to keep it safe from stabbing anybody on it’s ride home. \nParking is $10. DESCRIPTION:Ultimate Fishing Show Sign up!\n\nThe Ultimate Fishing Show where Club members teach young participants to tie Wooly Buggers for fishing\, and guide them through fly rod casting on the pond. If you’ve never tied wooly buggers\, you can be trained on site – it’s so easy even kids can do it! Translation: No experience necessary. \nIf you can volunteer an hour or two or even part of your day\, it would be greatly appreciated. Ultimate Fishing Show volunteers are needed for tying with attendees\, casting with kids\, set up\, tear down\, as well as co-chairs to assist with event organization and scheduling. \nHours are: Thursday 1p-8p; Friday 12p-8p; Saturday 10a-8p; Sunday 10a-5p \nParking is $10 as of 2025. DESCRIPTION:We are confirmed at the Kid’s Day at the Port Hope Grindstone City Kid’s Day event! The MFFC was requested to come back to tie with kids at the Grindstone Port Hope Youth Outdoor Education Day. \nVolunteers are needed and appreciated. This is a one day limited event. Volunteers will be tying wooly buggers with kids. All supplies are provided by the MFFC. \nJuly 26th their program is from 10-3. \nSet up starts at 8 am.
