SUMMARY:Wednesdays On the Water Non-Meeting  Meeting - Summer Tour 2025
DESCRIPTION:NON-MEETING WEDNESDAY’S ON THE WATER FISHING \n“Summer Tour of 2025”  \nHost – Todd Schotts\, Ken Harfoot\, and other volunteers to help \nLocation – Will be various lakes & rivers around the Detroit Metro area that has small craft accessibility\, possible wading\, possible fishing piers/docks\, and possible renting of watercraft. \nTimes – 4:00 PM till park closes \nObjective – We will be organizing on Non-Meeting Wednesday’s fishing various local lakes & rivers within the Metro Detroit area to have our club members spend time fishing together. The lakes/rivers we will focus on are locations that can accommodate small watercrafts\, along with possible wading\, fishing piers\, and renting of watercraft from the parks if possible. The goal is to give members the options for various ways to fish and have a great time. Hope to see everyone out on the water!! \nMeet Up Info – coming soon \nNOTE – BELOW LOCATIONS COULD CHANGE DUE TO CONDITIONS OF THE WATERSHED \nAug 13th… Gallup Park\, Ann Arbor – Huron River 4pm to Close  \n\nknown as a smallmouth fishery\nhas multiple species of bass\, pan fish\, and more\nkayak accessible\, canoe livery in park\n\nFuller Rd just west of Huron Parkway has better fishing from the west side access point. \nCLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE SITE FISHING INTEL \n\nGallup Bridge Closure – Access and Parking \n\n\n\nThere are four parking areas: one at the main entrance off Fuller Road\, two past that lot within the park along the park drive (currently inaccessible due to bridge construction)\, and one further southeast on Geddes Road. Parking gets tight on beautiful summer days due to livery visitors and shelter rentals/ events at Gallup. Be sure to plan ahead and prepare to walk or allow time to reach your final destination or meeting place! There is overflow parking located across the street at Huron High School. If you want to add a 15 minute scenic walk to your Gallup visit\, consider parking at Furstenberg Nature Area\, 2626 Fuller Rd\, where you can park and walk via boardwalk to Gallup while enjoying the oak-hickory forest and savanna. \n\nWhile the old vehicle bridge has been demolished\, Gallup Park is still open to vehicles and pedestrians. Vehicle access and limited parking is available off the main park entrance at Fuller Road\, as well as the parking lot off of Geddes Road near the boat launch. Pedestrian access is available from Geddes Avenue at Devonshire Park\, as well as the along the Border to Border trail from the east near the Dixboro dam and from the West from Mitchell Field. The Border to Border Trail is open and there is a short detour around the construction site for the new bridge.
