DESCRIPTION:2026 Expo Postcard\nLearn from nationally recognized professionals. \nTalk to experts.\nCast rods on the full sized in-house pond!\n\nThe Expo runs on volunteers.\nWant to help?  Click here!\nThe show is Friday\, 3/6 from 1:00 to 9:00 and Saturday\, 3/7 from 9:00 to 6:00.\nFor two days each March\, the Michigan Fly Fishing Club (MFFC) hosts the Great Lakes-area’s premier event for all things fly fishing — the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo.  This learning extravaganza is the oldest all-fly fishing event east of the Mississippi!   \nOrganized and run exclusively by MFFC volunteers\, the show typically features five headline speakers\, dozens of free seminars about fly fishing skills\, techniques and destinations\, dozens of fly tying demonstrations and more than 120 exhibitors.  Exhibitors include outfitters and retailers from across the country\, guides\, rod- and net-building artisans\, artists\, authors\, dealers in rare and collectible books and memorabilia and conservation organizations.  \nBest of all\, because the 54-year-old MFFC is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization\, proceeds from the Expo flow right back to support the Club’s educational programs and to fund a variety of grants conservation organizations across the state to restore and enhance Michigan’s rivers and lakes.  Over the years the MFFC has provided grants totaling more than $400\,000 for such causes.   \nAdmission is $15 for a one day ticket\, $20 for a two-day ticket. \nWe look forward to seeing your there! \nExpo Site : Click here \nTickets:  Click here \nVenue:  Click here \nVolunteer & Get In Free:  Click here. \nCheck in at the Club room for perks.

SUMMARY:March Speaker Meeting - Steven Arnoczky
DESCRIPTION:This is an interactive event. Bring your vise and tying materials. Foam bodies provided by the speaker.  \nClick here for the pattern. \nSteven Arnoczky DVM is a retired professor of veterinary surgery from Michigan State University. He began fly fishing in the Catskill region of New York (Beaverkill\, Willowemoc\, and Delaware rivers) before moving to Michigan. He has\nfished many of the famous Western trout rivers as well as fishing for steelhead in British Columbia\, Atlantic salmon in Quebec\, bonefish in Belize\, and snook and redfish in Florida. From June to September he routinely fishes the Muskegon River and his home waters of the Grand River for his favorite prey\, smallmouth bass. \nHis favorite top water bass fly is the ‘stealth bomber’. The stealth bomber was developed by Georgia fly fishing guide\, Kent Edmonds in the early 1990’s . It is an easy fly to tie and does not use any exotic materials. Its unique action and bubble trail is a deadly attractor for bass\, pike\, bluegill\, and most warm water species. \n \nThis presentation will go over the materials and basic steps to tie the stealth bomber as well as some modifications I have made to develop the ‘stealth frog.’ I will also discuss my set up to fish these flies as well as showing videos that show the action of the ‘stealth bomber’ flies as well some fish catching action. \n\n*MFFC business meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. EST\, learn about upcoming events\, volunteer opportunities\, hear fishing reports\, and general Club information.
