The Michigan Fly Fishing Club is an organization of fly fishers dedicated to the promotion of fly fishing, the preservation of the arts of fly tying, rod building and the protection of gamefish ad their habitat.
As a 501c(3) organization, the Michigan Fly Fishing Club directs the bulk of its resources back to its core missions — education and conservation.
While proceeds from the Club-sponsored Midwest Fly Fishing Expo fund the bulk of these endeavors, the Club also gratefully accepts contributions to further advance these efforts.
Contributions to enable the Club to conduct onsite, remote or virtual educational initiatives as well as river-related conservation initiatives.
Throughout its 50-year history, the Club has, and continues to provide, fly fishing education programs for youths and adults, as well as financial support for Project Healing Waters, which uses fly fishing as a recovery therapy for wounded active-duty military personnel and disabled veterans. These programs focus on basic skills as well as advanced programs in casting, fly tying, rod building and etymology.
In terms of conservation, the Club has directed more than $400,000 over the years to primarily Michigan-based initiatives to protect and restore the rivers and streams that are home to cold-water and warm-water fish.
