Tying Bio

Vern White began tying flies around 1999. He enjoys tying a variety of flies, from a tiny size 30 all the way up to 1/0.

Over the past few years, Vern has been creating fly-tying tutorial videos on his YouTube channel @vernwhite4752. He continues to this day. You know it’s Vern, not only by his distinctive voice, but his signature red and black buffalo plaid shirts.

Vern’s videos are carefully curated to allow fellow tyers to follow along step by step, in real time. They are designed to guide the watcher through the entire tying process, from start to finish, in real time. His goal is to create videos that are helpful and easy to follow, regardless of your level of tying experience. He loves sharing his passion for tying, and it shows in his videos.

Online videos include guidance for patterns like Black Diamond, Brad’s Brat, an all around stone fly, an articulated nymph, a winged pheasant tail and more.

Club members interested in group or private instructional Zoom tie alongs, contact Vern White.
