Need fly fishing Info? Here’s were to go.
Many of the fly rod manufacturers have interesting “how to’s” linked to their websites that are worth a look.
Guidelines
Epic rods offers excellent casting information. Guidelines is in the USA. Apparently they have been around awhile in Canada and Europe. They offer many interesting “how to” articles from streamer fishing from drift boats to carp fishing.
Naturally the rod companies want you to look at their offerings as you make your way to the “how to” articles.
FlyLords
FlyLords is a company that sells flies and an assortment of shirts and different bags. The company is basically a bunch of young fishing bums that are reviewing equipment, destinations and fly shops.
Their reviews of gear are always worth reading. In their journals, they have review the new fourth generation Orvis Helios rod as well as many other companies. Here are the FlyLords how tos.
More Resources – More Knowledge
The Guideline article caught my eye as though I have seen the name, have never pursued any information. These are worth a look. The article in the FlyLords journal discusses saltwater, salmon and euro nymphing fishing.
Equipment
The Guideline rods are worth a look because you can get a nice rod for significantly less than the $1,000 models. The $200 to $500 less rod might put you that much closer to a trip somewhere, or offset paying a guide.
Oh and the Guideline offers a $25 repair warranty to the original owner, which is very nice as well. That is especially nice when the streams and split shot periodically crash into your fly rods, eventually causing failure.
