Watch as Al Haxton walks everyone through these great patterns! Sybil will be tying on the close up camera.

For years I have been a proponent of “emerger” patterns. I have enjoyed tying and fishing these patterns ever since an old vendor from our shows in the 1980s and 1990s showed me his developed pattern called the ACE. That’s ACE for Attitude Correct Emerger. That guy, Mike Freeland, of Freeland Outfitters used to have a shop in Waterford.
So at February 24ths Tie Along, we will tie a couple different emergers, both newer patterns, but using one of Mike’s tricks with the hooks.

Both of these links are shown in Barry Ord Clarke’s book The Feather Benders Flytying Techniques.
This is truly a great book and I highly recommend it.
