AuSable River Cleanup

Each September, on the Saturday after Labor Day, the Michigan Fly Fishing Club spends time together with many other fly fishers from around the state to walk areas of our beloved AuSable River and clean debris from its river bottom and banks. The cleanup, sponsored by the Anglers of the AuSable, is a wonderful way to give something back to the river we fish during the summer.

We wade ‘beats’ that run from one access point to another and with our poking sticks and plastic rubbish bags to collect items that have been dropped or lost during the summer. Between beer cans, flip flops and the occasional bathing suit its always an adventure.

Events get under way at 10 a.m. meeting at Gates Lodge.

Food will be available at Gates at noon.
