Also by popular demand Chris WILL NOT be tying a Purple Haze. (Chris is very bummed out by this, but will get over it….). Instead, with the fall season upon us, Chris has selected two “go to” patterns, Bob Jacklin’s Spruce Moth and the traditional Prince Nymph.
Here are the materials needed for the flies:
Prince Nymph (Universal Fly Tying Guide, Dick Stewart, arr. by Chris Hunter)
Bead : for size 12 hook (gold or silver)
Hook: Size 12 1x
Thread: Black
Tail: 2 black goose biots
Rib: Oval gold tinsel
Body: peacock herl
Hackle: Grizzly
Wing – 2 white goose biots
Jacklin’s Spruce Moth
Hook: Size 10 or 12 dry fly
Thread: White or Yellow
Body/Wing: Blond Elk Hair
Hackle: Dun, Cream or White
Dubbing: Light Brown
Optional Tools:
Bourbon (or something similar)
Whip finish tool
