Speaker Meeting – Anthony Ruela

Anthony Ruela, a former Western North Carolina fly shop manager and trout fishing guide,  is excited to share his knowledge of Western Carolina streams and the nature of the trout, smallmouth, & musky that inhabit their waters. He spent 10 years fishing and guiding the vast network of streams from Asheville to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  In addition to guiding and a stint managing Davidson River Outfitters, Anthony also tied flies and built rods commercially.  Anthony’s knowledge and experience was also featured on ESPN2’s weekly program, Flyfish America with Chad Foster.  While he has been in Michigan for the past 15 years, he does make multiple trips back to the Carolinas to fish what he still considers his home waters.
