I admit fishing double rigs is not always my idea of a good time. At some point the nymphs will get tangled. This usually results in a destroyed leader, and frequently losing my favorite fly.
Micro size swivels are show up in shops regularly now. Supposedly this prevents the double rigged nymphs from tangling.
The true method for not tangling, requires watching you back cast. The flies become tangled if the forward cast commences before the back cast is complete. By paying attention, I have cast a size 20 dry fly and a size 22 nymph rig.
There are so many things to learn about catching trout. Most usually they all require paying attention.
